In a tweet that sparked controversy, Helen Zille said that for those who claim colonialism was only negative one should look at our independent judiciary, transport infrastructure and piped water.
For those claiming legacy of colonialism was ONLY negative, think of our independent judiciary, transport infrastructure, piped water etc.

Maimane addressed the media on the issue in Cape Town yesterday where he said the former DA leader has a strong case to answer.
"We have made a decision as a party to institute formal disciplinary action against Ms. Helen Zille. This has not been a easy decision to take, following recommendations presented to the party's federal legal commission," he said.
Zille responded on Twitter saying she’ll abide by the party’s processes and the rule of law. Maimane says it was a tough decision to take action against her.
Whatever I hear from the DA I have only one comment: I will abide by due and fair process of SA and DA constitution and the rule of law.

"I have respect for Premier Zille. She served this country with distinction. I think it would be incorrect to suggest that she hasn't. It would also be incorrect to draw conclusions to say she is racist. That's not the person I know," he said.
