Zikalala asks for suspension of toll fees in KZN
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has asked national government to suspend toll fees on major transport routes, including the N2 in the province.
Most roads in KZN have been severely damaged or washed away by the recent floods in the province.
Zikalala says road users are finding it unaffordable to pay toll fees to use the only alternative route, which is the N2 at uThongathi Toll Plaza and Umvoti Toll Plaza.
Zikalala made the remarks during the Provincial Day of Prayer for those who died during the floods at the Durban Exhibition Centre on Thursday.
