Woman shot during suspected hijacking in Durban

A woman, who was shot in Sea View, south of Durban, was
rushed to the hospital on Friday morning.

She was wounded in what appears to have been an attempted hijacking.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, says they were called to assist the woman on Wakesleigh Road.

He says when they arrived, they found the motorist with a gunshot wound to her arm.
"Advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise her together with EMRS [Emergency Medical and Rescue Services] medics before the patient was transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that she required.
"It is alleged that unknown men attempted to hijack the lady's vehicle and shot twice at her vehicle during the incident. However, SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting incident."
