Woman dies in R102 crash near Phoenix

A woman has been killed in a crash involving a car and a truck on the R102 in the vicinity of Phoenix, north of Durban. Emergency services say the vehicles collided just after 8am today.
KZN Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie says the driver of the truck was injured in the accident.
"Sadly a woman who was an occupant of the car has passed away at the scene of the crash. The driver of the truck was assessed by paramedics and found to have sustained minor injuries.
"The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage and will be investigated by the police," he said.
The car the woman had been travelling in crashed down an embankment following the collision.
