Woman dies in M41 Durban pedestrian crash
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
A woman, believed to have been in her late 20s, has been killed after she was hit by a car on the M41 - near the Mount Edgecombe off-ramp.

While details surrounding the incident are not yet clear, reports from the scene indicate that the woman may have been trying to cross the road when she was hit this morning.
Shawn Herbst, from Netcare 911 says there was nothing more they could do for the critically injured woman.
"The patient was assessed on scene by an emergency care practitioner - and found to have no signs of life. She was declared deceased on scene."

Herbst has meanwhile urged all road users to be cautious, especially during peak-hour traffic.
"I have two words of advice for motorists and pedestrians alike. Pedestrians - please only use dedicated pedestrian crossing when crossing the road. Stay out of freeways.

Herbst says motorists should be aware that people on foot do use the road.
"There are pedestrians that will be found on the road especially during peak-hour traffic - slow your speed down," Herbst said.
