Weather warning for KZN: Heavy rainfall on its way from the south

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for heavy rain in parts of KwaZulu-Natal this afternoon.

Forecasters expect downpours over the extreme southern regions today, spreading northwards tomorrow.

The weather service's Aslam Sardiwalla says most areas south of the province have an 80 percent chance of rain later today.

Sardiwalla says there is a possibility of flooding from this afternoon heading into tomorrow.

He is warning people to be cautious, especially those in low-lying areas.

There is a 60 to 80 percent chance of showers and thundershowers across KwaZulu-Natal tomorrow.
