Water restored to areas in Ladysmith: uThukela officials
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The Uthukela District Municipality says the water supply to several areas in Ladysmith has returned to normal.
"We had a power failure on Monday night. Eskom has since restored electricity. On Tuesday morning, we started pumping back the water. Most places received water in the afternoon," said spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza.
Parts of the northern KZN town experienced water cuts this week with officials saying reservoirs became dry due to problems with valves.
"We had a challenge with some valves that were not connected to the main pipes. Our engineers have determined the cause," he said.

Mkhonza says 'water shedding' remains in place due to the drought conditions.
He says technicians will continue to switch off water from 8pm at night into the morning.
