[WATCH] Jacob Zuma corruption trial will go ahead, set for May

Jacob Zuma's corruption trial will begin on the 17th of May.

That decision's come through from the Pietermaritzburg High Court, shortly after the State Advocate confirmed that all parties are ready to go to trial.
Natasha Kara, who's with the National Prosecuting Authority explains that the first part of the case will run until the 20th of June.
"The matter appeared today before the court and the presiding officers certified the matter trial-ready. The trial dates have been set which is on the 17th of May till the 20th of June."

"Further dates will be determined following a decision made by the officer and the Honourable Judge President."
The former president didn't attend this morning's proceedings - his legal representatives were there.
