WATCH: Firefighters battle Prospecton furniture factory blaze
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Durban firefighters are on scene of a blaze that broke out at a furniture manufacturer in Prospecton, south of Durban.
Emergency workers say the fire ignited on Mack Road, near Joyner Road this afternoon - and the cause is unknown at this stage.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says one person has been treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital.
"Paramedics arrived on the scene from the Durban Fore Department already in attendance. A factory which manufactures furniture was well alight. The Durban Fire Department are using multiple appliances to extinguish the blaze.
"One person was transported to a nearby hospital before the arrival of Rescue Care paramedics. The scene is still active," Jamieson said.
The road has been closed to traffic.
