The minibus they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck between Bronkhorstspruit and Verena almost two weeks ago.

The Department of Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga's Joseph Mabuza says the DNA identification of the victims have been completed.

"We are looking forward to a decent funeral for them," said Mabuza.

Mabuza says a memorial service will be held in Bronkhorstspruit today, while another memorial service will be held in Verena tomorrow.

"They will bury 17 of them in Verena on Saturday, it will be a mass funeral, and on Sunday we will bury the last two learners in Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal," said Mabuza.

Mabuza says they are assisting the families with the help of the private sector.

"We are assisting them with counselling, food for the funerals and we are also bringing in pastors to make sure they are well in their souls and to make sure they receive assistance after the funerals," said Mabuza.
