Veteran 'Isidingo' actor Don Mlangeni Nawa dies

Legendary actor Don Mlangeni Nawa has died at the age of 65.

The family confirmed the news of his passing in a media statement on Wednesday.
He started his acting career in theatre but then moved to Zulu drama Hlala Kwabafileyo in 1993. He also acted in the Zulu film Ubambo Lwami as David.
Nawa also played the popular role of 'Laqhasha' in the television sitcom ''Sgudi 'Snaysi.
In 1998, he made the popular role 'Zebedee Matabane' in the television soap opera Isidingo.
He continued to play the role until 2014 with a huge success.
In 2018, he made a lead role as 'Moseki', a royal family member and younger brother of the queen, in the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela The Throne.
The award-winning thespian continued to feature in other productions until his untimely death including some on Netflix.
"It is with deep heartbreak that we share the passing of our beloved father, Don Mlangeni Nawa. He was the heart of our family a loving father, brother, and friend" the statement read,
"To the world, he was a gifted and respected actor whose presence lit up every stage and screen he graced. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely."
The family has requested the public to give them privacy during the mourning period.
Funeral and memorial arrangements for the late television icon are yet to be announced.
