Verulam worker falls through roof, suffers head injury
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
A construction worker has been rushed to hospital after falling through a roof in Ottawa, near Verulam north of Durban.
The 30-year-old man had been at a depot site in Tottenham Road at the time.
Netcare911's Shawn Herbst says he sustained a head injury.
"Paramedics responded to a construction worker that had fallen 3.4-metres through a thin metal roof sheet. The man was found to be in a moderately stable condition. However, due to possible fractures and a head injury, he was stabilised on scene and transported to a local hospital for further specialist care," he says.
Investigations are underway to establish the cause of the incident.
