UPDATE: #Durbanfire out, officials now targeting smouldering rubble
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
With the main fire successfully extinguished, clean-up efforts at a warehouse in Rossburgh are now underway.
A fire broke out on Friday morning along South Coast Road last week and gained momentum due to strong winds.
Firefighters, who worked for days to extinguish the flames, had to keep the blaze away from flammable chemicals and fertilizers in the storage facility owned by Transnet.

"At the moment, we are still extinguishing the smouldering rubble. However, there is no fire that can be seen in the vicinity of the site. We obviously have to turn over some rubble and keep on extinguishing whatever is still left that is burning," he said.
