Umzimkhulu shot councillors still to give police statements
Officers are still on the hunt for the gunmen who opened fire on former ANC Youth League secretary general, Sindiso Magaqa, and 2 area councillors in Umzimkhulu earlier this week.
Magaqa, Ward 11 councillor Nonsikelelo Mafa and Ward 16 councillor, Jabu Mzizi, were shot and hurt on Thursday night. Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says the 3 ANC councillors remain in hospital.
"We are waiting on doctors orders as to when we can go visit them. For now we have not spoken to them nor taken any statements, so until we get the go ahead we will just have to wait," he said.
"Work on the crime scene has already been completed and the only thing outstanding is statements from the victims," Mulaudzi said.
