UKZN 8% increase met with resistance
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The University of KwaZulu-Natal’s announcement that fees will increase by 8% next year has been met with resistance by the student body.

UKZN’s decision follows a similar one taken by Wits recently. UKZN’s increase has been approved by council. SRC president, Noxolo Bhengu, says students will meet to discuss the news.
"We are against any form of fee increment, even if it is 0.1%, but we still need to sit down as the SRC and discuss the entire statement because the statement does not only stop at the 8% fee increment but it goes further than that," she said.
"It also touches on a lot of things that we still need to meet and deliberate over," Bhengu said.
