UK commemorates Armistice Day

A two-minute moment of silnce has been observed in the United Kingdom to mark Armistice Day.
This is in honour of the end of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I which took effect at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
Events were staged at war memorials, offices, schools, town halls, and churches.
The ceremony took place at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, north west of London. While veterans and serving personnel laid wreaths at the Cenotaph in London.
Armistice Day follows similar ceremonies on Remembrance Day which pays tribute to all those who died in World War I and II - inluding those kille din combat since that era.
