Two motorists have been shot and wounded in separate incidents this afternoon in Durban and Amanzimtoti.
In the Durban shooting - a 37-year-old man was shot near primary school on Silverton Road.
It's alleged he and another motorist had an argument over a parking spot.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says the victim was shot in the upper body.
"There was a lot of people, bystanders and security companies trying to render first-aid assistance. SAPS and ambulance arrived - cordoning off the scene - so authorities could investigate and treat the man accordingly."
Earlier this afternoon - an elderly man was shot in the face in an alleged attempted hijacking in Amanzitoti.
Netcare 911's Shawn Herbst says the 69-year-old man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
"He was alone in the car. The vehicle was also not taken - and [it's regarded as] an alleged hijacking. It's gone through the top of his jaw and through the other side of his face," Herbst said.
