Two killed in separate PMB crashes
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Two people have been killed in separate crashes in and around Pietermaritzburg this morning.
In the first accident, one person was killed when two light vehicles collided in Chase Valley Road, north of the city.
KZN Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie says six people were also injured.
"Paramedics form KZN EMS and from several private ambulance services treated a total of six patients at the scene for injuries that they had sustained.
"One person had minor injuries while the remaining patients had all sustained serious injuries. The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage. It will be investigated by the police," he said.
In the second accident, one person passed away following a single light motor vehicle crash along the Greytown Road near New Hanover.
Three people were seriously hurt in that crash.
McKenzie is urging motorists to drive carefully on the roads during the festive season.
