Two killed in N3 truck collision
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Two people have been killed after two trucks collided on the N3 before the Mariannhill Toll Plaza.
The trucks crashed on the Durban-bound carriageway this morning.
A man and a woman who had been travelling as passengers in one of the vehicles died on scene.
The Transport Department's Zinhle Mngomezulu says emergency services are still on scene.
''Two bodies are entrapped in a rigid truck. The slow and emergency lanes are obstructed. It is unknown exactly what transpired but we have got emergency services that are trying to extricate the bodies. RTI Pinetown is busy controlling traffic in that area. We urge motorists to drive cautiously,'' she said.
Medics say three people including both drivers were treated for minor injuries.
Traffic is moving through the area but motorists can expect some congestion.
