Two killed in M4 collision

A biker and the driver of a car have been killed in a high-impact collision on the M4 Southern Freeway near Congella.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says the motorcyclist was a man believed to have been in his 40s.
He was declared dead at the scene after midnight.
"Paramedics arrived on scene to find carnage as they found that a Superbike had somehow collided into the rear of a vehicle on the fast lane causing extensive damage. Paramedics immediately triaged the scene and found that the motorcycle driver had sustained major injuries and unfortunately there was nothing medics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.

"There were two occupants in the vehicle however the motorcycle had almost split the vehicle in two and the driver of the vehicle a male in his thirties had also sustained major injuries and there was nothing medics could do for him, and he was also declared deceased on the scene.
"A teenage passenger in the vehicle had sustained serious injuries and was stabilised by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby Hospital for the urgent care she required,” said Jamieson.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
