Two arrested for violent protest in Durban CBD
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Motorists planning on using Mahatma Gandhi Road in Durban's Point area are advised to choose another route.

The road is still closed in the vicinity of Sea Point Towers following a disruptive protest earlier.
Geraldine Stevens, who's with Durban Metro Police, says students took to the streets over a weak WiFi signal on Monday morning.

"It was very volatile. They were throwing TV from the window and from the flats so we had to call our public order police to push them back in. Two arrests were made for inciting public violence."
The demonstrators have since been dispersed - but debris from the protest is strewn across the road.
Police are still on scene.
