The specialised Taxi Violence Unit is investigating the murder of a Tongaat taxi boss last night.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the man was gunned down outside a local restaurant.
"It is alleged that they were in a meeting in one of the restaurants and he came out of the restaurant to answer his phone.
"After a short while, gunshots were heard. When the colleagues went outside that's when he was found - lying outside the door of his vehicle. The motive is unknown at the moment," she said.
