Toddler in critical condition following near-drowning incident
A two-year-old boy is receiving treatment in hospital - after nearly drowning in a pool in the Athlone Park area, south of Durban.
The boy's father found him floating in a pool this morning, and managed to resuscitate him.
Emergency services who attended to the scene say the child was in a critical condition with shallow breathing.

Netcare911's Chris Botha says sadly, this is not the first child-related drowning incident they've had to attend to in recent weeks.
"A medical team took over and started working on the child. It is tragic to see this festive season that we've had four little ones already that have been involved in drowning incidents in swimming pools," he said.
