Around 18 security guards were injured, fires were lit in the stands and millions of rands worth of property and broadcast equipment were damaged, following a Kaizer Chiefs' loss to Free State Stars.

"All these actions are indications that if you behave in an unacceptable manner - you will be dealt with swiftly," the facility's Vusi Mazibuko said.

Mazibuko says they're calling for stiff sentences when the group appears again next month.

Meanwhile, the stadium says there'll be extra security for next weekend's soldout Telkom Knockout clash between Chiefs and Pirates.

"We are warning football supporters that police are collaborating - to ensure that when you come to a match you are able to come with your family without being hesitant that someone might impact negatively on your experience," he said.
