Thousands to Ride in 39th Amashova – Here’s How It Will Affect Traffic

The 39th edition of the Amashova National Classic cycling race is set to take place on Sunday, 20 July 2025.

Thousands of cyclists will pedal the 132-kilometre route from the Nelson Mandela Capture Site near Howick to Masabalala Yengwa Avenue in Durban.

The roads along the race route will all be closed to traffic at 2am on the morning of the race. 

The reopening times vary.

Motorists in KwaZulu-Natal are advised to plan ahead and consider alternative routes.
