Murder convict Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana, his alleged accomplice, are taking MultiChoice to court on Friday morning in a last-minute bid to stop a documentary from airing on the streaming platform Showmax.
Applications to pause the four-part documentary ‘Tracking Thabo Bester’ will be heard on Friday.
The Facebook rapist and his partner approached the Johannesburg High Court, arguing the show was a threat to their rights.

MultiChoice’s legal representative, Steve Budlender, says they'll oppose the applications.
He says the first episode will be released on Friday, as scheduled.
"The Thabo Bester case is of massive public interest and importance, and that is precisely why Showmax commissioned this documentary, and we very much hope that the High Court will recognise the constitutional right of the public to watch it."
