Tense standoff at Wits
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Thousands of students were singing and dancing on Wits' main campus on Tuesday, following clashes with police.
Police fired rubber bullets, teargas and stun grenades to disperse protesting students demanding free higher education.
Students vowed to bring the university to a standstill after management announced that classes would resume today.
Several female students undressed, saying they felt unsafe and called on police to stop shooting at them.
