Temporary N3 closure in Maritzburg
SANRAL has announced a temporary night time road closure in Maritzburg for the weekend.
The roads agency says the closure is to allow for the removal of steel bridge beams at the new Market Road overpass bridge.
It's part of the N3 upgrade project between Gladys Manzi Road and the New England Road Interchange.
The N3 northbound from Durban to Maritzburg will be closed from 9pm tonight until 5am tomorrow morning.
SANRAL's Jason Lowe urges using alternate routes.
"Alternative via Market Road offramp then temporary onramp back onto the N3. That's a minor detour."
He says the N3 southbound will also be closed from 9 tomorrow evening until 5am on Monday morning.
"Alternative via Market Road offramp, then left onto R103 to Ashburton, left onto Pope Ellis Drive and back onto the N3 via Ashburton Interchange
