Taxis, bus services not running on KZN south coast
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Taxi and bus services were not running in parts of the KZN south coast on Monday morning.

Port Shepstone and Margate were among the areas affected.
The stayaway was reportedly organised in response to Operation Shanela.
Disgruntled taxi operators want police to release the more than 30 minibuses impounded during the anti-crime initiative.
Aadil Moola is a CPF chairperson in Port Shepstone, and said it was a mass stayaway.

“So far, what we gathering is that they have told major businesses in the area that they will not be transporting anybody, the taxis will not be operating.
They haven't indicated any of blocking the roads. However, in our discussion with SAPS and security we will be ready for those instances."
KZN Transport MEC Siboniso Duma said there'll be more boots on the ground to monitor the situation.
The department's Ndabezinhle Sibiya says the MEC meet with taxi association SANTACO soon.
"There's a taxi indaba planned for August where the MEC will make an announcement with the view of ensuring that all issues affecting the public transport sector are addressed."
