Taxi drivers arrested for alleged bribery during KZN roadblocks

Twelve taxi drivers have been arrested for allegedly trying to bribe traffic cops at roadblocks in KwaZulu-Natal.
Transport MEC Bheki Ntuli says fraudulent vehicle licence discs were also confiscated from them.
He says officers have been inspecting vehicles on the R102 in KwaDukuza and at the uMvoti Toll Plaza and KwaDukuza Taxi Rank.

Ntuli says they've issued some 54 fines to motorists for various offences. Two minibus taxis were impounded - seven were discontinued.
"We have discovered things that are very bad here, most of that taxis that were impounded they have number plates that are belonging to tractors, they have got discs that are belonging to Corsa vehicles and most of the drivers do not have the necessary documentation."
