Lamontville police are investigating a case of murder, after a taxi owner was gunned down at his home yesterday.
It's understood the 57-year-old man was at home in the area, south of Durban, when he received a phone call and went outside.
The police's Thulani Zwane says as the man stood outside on the phone - a group of assailants opened fire on him - killing him instantly.
"No arrests have yet been made, and the motive for his killing is still unknown. We are investigating this matter. We are also appealing to members of the community to come forward and give us information regarding the suspects," he said.
