Suspected robber killed on Durban freeway

A suspected would-be robber has been shot and killed in the south of Durban.

A second injured suspect has been taken to hospital.
The shooting happened on Edwin Swales Drive on Monday afternoon.
The exact circumstances around the incident are not yet clear at this stage.

"Paramedics assessed both men and found that the one man had sustained major injuries as a result of gunshot wounds and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him. He was declared deceased on the scene," says ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson.
"The second man was found to be in a critical condition with a gunshot wound to his head. Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise him before placing him on a manual ventilator and rushing him to a nearby Durban hospital for the urgent care that he required."
