Supreme Court rejects Zuma's appeal application
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The Supreme Court of Appeal has rejected Jacob Zuma's application for leave to appeal a High Court ruling dismissing his bid for a permanent stay of prosecution in his corruption case.
The former president is facing numerous charges of fraud, graft and racketeering - in relation to the multi-billion rand arms procurement deal.
French arms company - Thales is also implicated. It too had applied to the Pietermaritzburg High Court for a permanent stay of prosecution.
The case has been going on for more than a decade.
READ: Arrest warrant issued for Zuma
The National Prosecuting Authority in KZN says with today's dismissal of his application Zuma will appear in court on the 6th of May.
Last month, he missed his court date citing ill-health.
The court issued a warrant of arrest for him. It will be carried out if he doesn't show up at that next appearance in May.
