Steenhuisen to visit Ugu areas worst-hit by water issues
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Ugu residents' concerns over constant water supply problems will be taken to the president's ears.
DA leader John Steenhuisen will visit communities in the south coast municipality on Friday to hear for himself the reasons behind the ongoing supply issues.
The party says decades of municipal mismanagement and the lack of maintenance are to blame.

But Ugu's Mayor Sizwe Ngcobo insists they have been severely impacted by drought, vandalism and non-payment.
"DA leader John Steenhuisen will be visiting and holding meetings in some of the worst affected areas such as Hibberdene, Port Edward, Ramsgate and Port Shepstone to hear the pleas of the people and to take their pleas to President Ramaphosa in the National Assembly," says DA's Ugu South Constituency Head Rishigen Viranna.
