Stanger family escapes house fire
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
A north coast family of five narrowly escaped a house fire.
Medics were called to the Stanger home in the early hours of Saturday.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Samantha Meyrick says the family was rescued by neighbours.
"Fortunately, the surrounding residents quickly came together and were able to remove two gates and a fence, allowing the family to escape and KDM Fire Department to gain access to the house," says Meyrick.
Two family members suffered serious injuries.
"Two patients who sustained critical and serious injuries were transported to a specialised facility under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics,” Meyrick adds.
