Stage 2 load shedding extended until Sunday
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize and Steve Bhengu
Eskom says it's extending Stage 2 load shedding until Sunday morning.
The power utility says the loss of units has increased the shortage in generation capacity.
Eskom spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha says the system remains vulnerable and constrained.
"Implementing this stage of load shedding will help us replenish the reserves - that is the diesel, and the hydro storage facilitates, to better prepare for next week. We urge people to continue using electricity sparingly."

President Cyril Ramaphosa says turning around embattled power utility cannot be done overnight.
Ramaphosa was speaking in parliament during his response to the SONA debate yesterday.
There have been calls from a number of sectors to privatise Eskom.
But Ramaphosa believes the hasty decision could be detrimental to Eskom's survival.
