South Africans 'must be bold enough to confront racism'
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
ANC Secretary General, Gwede Mantashe says the party remains as dedicated to fighting racism as much as any opposition party.
He'd been addressing reporters last night following a three-day lekgotla outside Pretoria.
The gathering of senior party leaders and Cabinet members charts the ANC and government’s programme for the year.
It was agreed that investigations into the feasibility of free education and the proposed electricity tariff hike need to be priorities.
Mantashe waded in on the country's racism debate.
"What we should be fighting is the superiority of a section of the population and the perceived inferiority of the section of the population. Black South Africans cannot continue exaggerating the domination of whites. They must actually be bold enough to confront racism," he said.
