Jason Rohde appeared in the Stellenbosch Magistrate's Court today for the second day of his bail hearing with the magistrate granting the State's request for more time for further investigation.

Rohde's wife, Susan was found dead in what was initially reported as a suicide at Spier Wine Estate in the Boland last month where Sotherby's was hosting a conference.

He was arrested on Tuesday morning at his Randburg home.

While the police are now investigating a murder - Rohde's defence team says it has evidence that the death WAS a suicide.

His lawyer, Daniel Witz, says they're disappointed.

"Obviously Jason's taken it the hardest out of everyone, and we're just trying to make arrangements until next week Tuesday - when he can reappear."

Witz says he doesn't understand why the state needs more time.

"We've played open card with the State and the SAPS from the beginning. We've given them all the documentation that was requested. We've been one call away whenever they need anything. Yet they need more time, which is a bit surprising - we are officers of the court, we must comply with their request," he said.
