Some schools in KZN to remain closed until Tuesday
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Some schools affected by the floods in KwaZulu-Natal will be temporarily closed until the next week Tuesday.
The Department of Education in KZN on Wednesday afternoon issued another circular urging parents and teachers to exercise caution.
Spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says the situation still poses a risk to the lives of pupils and teachers.
“We are still assessing the damage to the schools. Some of the schools, even if they are not damaged themselves, you’ll find that many roads are closed, so the schools aren’t reachable.
“This is still very dangerous, as many roads are still collapsing. We are observing many mudslides in some areas.”
