WATCH: Snaking queues at King Shaka Airport’s FlySafair counters
Updated | By Lauren Hendricks
King Shaka Airport was abuzz with FlySafair passengers on Monday, with many waiting in line to catch their flights.

This comes amid a two-week pilot strike, following a deadlock in wage negotiations between the airline and the union Solidarity.
Long queues stretched out on both sides of FlySafair’s pink-bordered check-in counters.
Despite the strike, some passengers say their travel plans haven’t been affected — reporting smooth check-ins and no delays.
But, one woman travelling to Cape Town says her flight was grounded.
She was told to come to the airport early to be placed on a waiting list but says she’s still in the dark about whether she would be able to board on Monday.
FlySafair is offering a multi-year wage deal that includes a 5.7% salary increase and other pay adjustments.
But Solidarity is holding out for a 10.5% hike, and has issued a 14-day strike notice.
The airline says it has contingency plans in place.
It’s a mixed bag for FlySafair travellers today at the King Shaka International Airport. Some report smooth journeys, while others are stuck for hours as flights are suspended amid an ongoing pilot strike over a wage dispute. #Flysafair pic.twitter.com/Qcdcz4gMYv
