Slain Durban woman's family 'can't cope with sudden death'
Updated | By Portia Cele
The family of a Durban woman who was shot and killed in Soweto says they've been living their worst nightmare.
28-year-old Bongeka Phungula's body was found in an open veld not far from where the body of her friend Popi Qwabe, aged 24, was discovered.
This brings to four the number of women murdered in the area recently.
Three suspects appeared in court on Wednesday in connection with the killings.

Phungula's cousin, Thobile Mngadi, says they can't come to terms with what's happened.
"We're losing it. We can't cope at the moment because it's just a sudden death. My gran, who raised her, is under so much stress. She doesn't know what to do or where to even start with the funeral," she said.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Karabo Mokoena - who was abused and killed allegedly by her former partner - will be laid to rest today.
Gauteng Police say they are investigating the matter and following leads that could result in more arrests.
