Skeleton found in Reunion
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Police have opened an inquest docket after the grisly discovery of a human skeleton in the Reunion area, south of Durban, on Friday night.
The city’s Search and Rescue Unit was dispatched to the scene, near the train station, after a passerby stumbled upon the bones.
At this stage, it is not known how long the skeleton had been there for nor whether it is that of a man or a woman's. Police spokesperson, Colonel Thulani Zwane says they have yet to identify the deceased.
He says the remains were “severely decomposed”.
