Six killed in farm attacks in first quarter of 2025 - SAPS

Police say six people were killed in
farm-related attacks in the country in first quarter of the year, with
KwaZulu-Natal topping the list.

"We had eight counts in 2024 for the same period, and currently we have six counts. This is a reduction of two counts," said Crime Registrar of the SAPS, Major-General Thulare Sekhukhune.
"KwaZulu-Natal had two murders that were classified as farm-related, and then [the] Free State had one, Gauteng [had] one, Limpopo and Mpumalanga had one each."
Briefing parliament on Wednesday, Sekhukhune said the victims included farm owners and dwellers.

"Two people were classified as employees on the farm. One was classified as a farm dweller, and then we had two that were classified as farmers. One [was] in the Free State and [another was] in Limpopo," Sekhukhune told Parliament.
"We also had one that was classified as a farm murder that happened in the province of KwaZulu-Natal."
Earlier this year, three young women were knocked over and killed by a farmer in Dalton, near Greytown.
