Six kids killed in collision between bus, train in Mpumalanga
Updated | By Newswatch
Six children have been killed in a horrific crash involving a bus and train in Emakhazeni Local Municipality in Mpumalanga.

Education officials said the collision happened while the bus was transporting 30 pupils from Môrelig Primary School late Wednesday afternoon.
Spokesperson for Community Safety in the province, Mmusi Moeti, said early reports indicate that the vehicle crossed a railway track at Mafube Village but had veered too close to the moving train.
"From the information that we have gathered so far, we do not wish to cast any aspersions on the investigation that is already underway but you cannot rule out human error, " said Moeti.

More than 10 children were injured.
"We believe that once an individual faces the full consequences of what they have done, it will go a long way to ensuring that tragedies such as this one are avoided,” said Moeti.
Moeti said the bus driver suffered minor injuries. The train driver was not hurt.
