Six gunned down in Umlazi

Six young men have been gunned down in an attack at a home in Umlazi, south of Durban.
In a statement, police say the group of men were at a house at an informal settlement in N Section on Monday when they were attacked by approximately seven men who were armed with pistols.
Police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the six men, who were between the ages of 22 and 25-years-old, were declared dead at the scene.
“Six of the occupants were killed in the attack and two men who found injured near the scene of the attack were conveyed to local hospitals to receive medical attention.
“Detectives from the Provincial Task Team are investigating six counts of a murder and two of attempted murder. We are appealing to anyone who may have information that can assist in the investigation to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or utilise the MYSAPS app.”
The motive for the attack is unknown.
