Six busted for drug trade in Phoenix, Chatsworth
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the drug trade in Phoenix and Chatsworth following a year-long investigation by the Hawks in KwaZulu-Natal.
Provincial spokesperson, Simphiwe Mhlongo, says they were arrested on Friday morning.
Officials seized drugs and a luxury vehicle at one of the suspects properties.
Mhlongo says the vehicle, which didn't have a number plate, was seized for inquiry purposes-and to establish its rightful owner.

He says the suspects will line up in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
"This operation is following an outcry by the Chatsworth community where they reported this drug dealing activity. It was an intensive investigation and the suspects were identified. We seized a vehicle for analysis purposes and we finalised that investigation.
"Today was our takedown where we executed the warrant of arrest and all the targets that were identified during the investigation were arrested."
