The South African Post Office says it has opened a case with the police after an employee was assaulted in Pietermaritzburg.

It is alleged a customer at the branch in Willowton attacked the manager earlier this week.
It's understood the 25-year-old woman was there to collect a grant.

SAPO KZN's Nobuhle Njapha says the woman also allegedly involved her brother in the attack.
She says a brother and a sister were arrested after SAPO launched a complaint of assault and damage to property.
"Both suspects allegedly assaulted the branch manager when she informed customers who were collecting the R350 grants that the computer system was off. The female suspect allegedly threw bricks at the shop front windows and glass door," says Njapha.
