Shivambu retracts drug abuse claims against MKP spokesperson
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
Floyd Shivambu has retracted a statement he
made accusing uMkhonto WeSizwe Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela of drug and
alcohol abuse.

The party's former Secretary-General made the comments during a television interview last week.
In response, Ndhlela denied the allegations in an interview with the SABC and threatened legal action.
Shivambu's apology came after Ndhlela filed a R3 million defamation lawsuit against him at the Johannesburg High Court on Friday.

Speaking at a media briefing on Friday, Shivambu formally withdrew the accusation.
"We take this opportunity to encourage all the people of South Africa to stay away from drugs, particularly if they're members of parliament and members of leadership of different political parties.
"We really unconditionally retract those statements that were made there."
