Second vaccine batch arrives in SA
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The second batch of Johnson & Johnson vaccines has landed in the country.
The batch of 80 000 arrived at OR Tambo international airport this morning and arrives after a batch of 80 000 which the country received last week.
This latest consignment will be used to inoculate frontline healthcare workers. The aircraft bringing in the consignment left Belgium on Thursday.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize briefed the National Council of Provinces this week saying a large number of more vaccines are expected in the coming months.
To date more than 50 000 healthcare workers have received the jab.
