Search widens for missing Montclair teen
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Montclair police are reaching out to the community to help locate a teenage boy who's been missing for nearly two weeks.
Thirteen-year-old Tandiwanasha Marecha was reported missing on 13 March.
Police say he was last seen on Ronald Road, apparently on his way to the shops.
Renegade Search and Rescue's Dawn Gounden says the search has now extended beyond Durban south.
"We have done vast searches in Monclair and surrounding areas. The community has given us feedback as well pertaining to their searches.
"Right now, we have interviewed the people within the residence where he was staying and people in the surrounding areas. The searches have now extended out of Monctlair and Yellowwood Park in [the] hope that we can find him in another area."
Gounden says Tandiwanasha’s mother is in a frantic state.
"The mother is on a very emotional rollercoaster because he hasn't done this before."
Anyone with information on Tandiwanasha's whereabouts can contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Duma, on 061 702 1319 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
